Energy Psychology in Disaster Relief by David Feinstein, Ph.D. Energy psychology has been demonstrating its effectiveness in helping alleviate the emotional impact of some of the worst natural and human-made disasters in recent history. This paper reports on the striking outcomes trauma relief teams using EP have produced in areas such as Kosovo and Rwanda following the ethnic violence, Indonesia following the tsunami, and in the United States following 9-11, Rita, and Katrina. The Green Cross (analogous to the Red Cross, but with more of a focus on the mental health impact of disasters; founded in 1995 following the Oklahoma City bombings) is, in fact, adopting energy psychology as a preferred treatment in the wake of profound disasters.
